History Essay #1

Canada was not the same country in 1919 that it had been in 1913. World War I was the war that changed Canada. This will be proved by examining the following categories: Canadian battles and contributions to the Allies’ victory, the role of women on the homefront, and contributions from the homefront other than women.

Canadian battles and contributions to the Allies’ victory made World War I change Canada. During World War I, Canadian soldiers noticeably contributed to the winning of many battles against the Germany, such as the battles of Ypres, and Vimy Ridge. They were also leading the Allies’ forces to throw back the German military in the Last Hundred Days. As well, the Canadian navy helped hunting German U-boats and escorting cargo ships, which brought supplies to Britain. Therefore, Canadian battles and contributions to the Allies’ victory made World War I change Canada.

The role of women in the homefront made World War I change Canada. During the wartime, many women had started working in many categories of jobs such as secretaries, salesperson, and assembly line workers. In addition, women were buying bonds from the government to finance the war. Many women’s organizations were established to sew socks and pajamas to send to the soldiers. As a result, the role of women in the homefront made World War I changes Canada.

The contributions other than women from the homefront made World War I change Canada. In World War I, Canadian farmers produced four times more food to help feeding the Canadian, British and French soldiers. Canadians also made guns, airplane parts, and ships to supply the war. During the war, about 12,000 boys between the age of 15 and 19 were enrolled and placed on farms to help do the chores and overcome the labour shortage. In addition, many clubs and organizations such as The Dorcas Club and The Thrift Stamp were established to gather money and other necessities to supply the war. Thus, the contributions other than women from the homefront made World War I change Canada.

In conclusion, World War I was the war that changed Canada. It has been proved by examining the above categories: Canadian battles and contributions to the Allies’ victory, the role of women on the homefront, and contributions other than women from the homefront.

History Essay #2:

The 1920’s made many significant changes to Canada. The decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties”. This can be proved by examining the following categories: changes for women; sports and entertainment; new developments and inventions.

The decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties” because of the changes it made to women. Unlike before, women were welcome in cigar stores as customers. Women also took a keen interest in politics. In addition, many women’s organizations were growing rapidly during the 1920’s. As a result, the decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties”.

The decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties” because it made noticeable changes in sports and entertainment. In the 1920’s, Jazz became the most popular music. Sports such as golf had also become very popular in the 1920’s. As well, radio was very common in many Canadian houses. More motion pictures were presented at theatres and they had become major entertainment for Canadians. Therefore, the changes in sports and entertainment made “The Roaring Twenties” a reasonable nickname for the decade of 1920’s.

The decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties” because many developments and inventions were taken place during this period of time. Edward Rogers, a famous Toronto’s inventor invented “battery-less” radio, which is the radio plugged into the household’s electrical current. The method of assembly line was improved and used commonly in factories. Snowmobile was another invention of the 1920’s. It was invented by Armand Bombardier. Thus, de decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties” because it was the decade of many developments and inventions.

In conclusion, the decade of 1920’s deserves the nickname “The Roaring Twenties”. It has been proved by examining the above categories: changes for women; sports and entertainment; new developments and inventions.

Dis dude lives in Canada, eh? Is dis de gr.10 history? Let me tell ya something, something that i can see so obviously in ur essay is dat it is just about one thing and all u do is repeating the point (ur thesis) over and over again many times (the ones dat were bolded). It makes ur essay sounds so boring, and i am sory, cheating somehow. These are the mistakes that i think u should change:
1. Never repeat ur thesis in body paragraphs.
2. In the conclusion, put the thesis again but change the wording.
3. for this essay, try to use more details to support the body paragraphs, and others verbs eccept "change" (u used it so many times, sounds boring!)
There are more about the grammar and the info u provided. But i dont have de textbook here with me, so "no can do!". Anyways, how long have u been in Canada?
