Windows XP thường có sẵn máy fax được cài đặt như dạng máy in nếu máy tính của ta có Fax Modem.
Ta có thể biến máy tính thành máy gửi và nhận Fax nhờ tính năng này.
Cách làm cũng đơn giản thôi bạn ạ, trước khi Fax cần đảm bảo có những điều sau:
1. Máy Fax phải hiện hữu trong danh sách các máy in của bạn
2. Modem Máy tính phải được nối đường điện thoại còn hoạt động.
Cách kiểm tra máy Fax có ở trong danh sách máy in hay không khá đơn giản:
(n)Start/Settings/Printers and Faxes Nếu trong danh sách không có, bạn phải cài thêm thông qua bộ cài đặt thiết bị của Windows: (n)Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add or Remove Programes/ [Add/Remove Windows Components]/[Chọn Fax services] Sau khi cài đặt xong, ta có thể gửi và nhận Fax theo cách sau:

Máy Fax trong WIndows hoạt động như máy in vì thế khi muốn gửi, chỉ cần khởi động lệnh in và chọn máy Fax, sau đó điền các thông số phù hợp để gửi Fax chẳng hạn:

The data fax modem is a very functional machine which is secure and reliable. It is the sending data fax modem that dials a phone number and then sends a white noise audio signal via the internet or telephone line to the receiving data fax modem and then waits for reception confirmation.
